Who We Are

We Bite blossomed from a clandestine, speakeasy-style plant haven nestled in the Marigny in 2018, before transplanting to St. Roch in 2019. We shuttered our doors in 2022 and returned to the Marigny at our new beautiful and sunny location. Specializing in carnivorous plants, tropicals, and other exotic flora, our store is a sanctuary for the botanical curious.

Our journey began in 2018 when my wife, Aryn, and I embarked on pop-up adventures across New Orleans, aiming to unveil the wonders of peculiar plants and advocate for their delicate ecosystems. In 2019, we took root with our inaugural store, initially planned for a fleeting three-month stint, but flourishing for a year and a half. Amidst our growth, our family welcomed a new addition—a daughter born in December 2019, who joyously returned home from the NICU in March 2020, thriving despite the challenges.

As the COVID-19 pandemic swept the nation, we faced the daunting task of temporarily shuttering our store. Undeterred, we pivoted, devising a strategy to bring botanical joy directly to our customers' doorsteps, servicing Orleans and Jefferson parishes with plant deliveries.

At the heart of We Bite lies a vibrant community of plant enthusiasts, nurtured through workshops, attentive online and in-person service, and our cherished soil bar. With anticipation, we eagerly await the opportunity to rekindle these connections and continue our mission of sharing the allure of peculiar flora from every corner of the globe.
